I don't know of a way for you to do that due to being able to place the cursor in a specific location. My best suggestion is having "hu" turn into “[hide until: ” waiting for you to complete the string with the 12/04]. That's best I've got!

Does anyone know of a way to enter a macro that will just move the cursor back a few spaces? I am trying to enter a command in emails that a parser will be able to use. i.e. "[hide until: 12/04]" I am trying to set up an AutoText string that will type out "[hide until: ]" but place the cursor inside the right bracket so I can just type "hu" and then immediately type "12/04" without having to move the cursor manually (at least until I'm through with the date).

[...] It’s Monday and you’ve got a long week ahead of you. The economy is in shambles but it’s in hard times that one’s true character shows. So now it’s time to start pumping out emails like never before. To do this, Nan has written a simple guide to using BlackBerry Autotext. One way I have found to triple the speed of my typing is by adding words to my autotext. Here is how to add words and shortcuts as well as a list that I currently am using. Do you have some good ones that I should know about? Please share in the comments! [...]

Thanks Françoys! There are a bunch of them, but I don't know what they mean. You can find them by going to Options and checking the list. Great idea on your use, really cool!

I will often precede my emails with location-date-time stamp, just to make things clearer to the recipient, who might not be a nerd. For that, I have defined in AutoText a few entries for a few different cities they are of the form "odt", "mdt", "rdt", etc., and are defined as follows: (Ottawa, %D, %T) for "odt".
"odt" will then expand to "Ottawa, Sat, Oct 25, 2008, 16:20:01".

Now let me throw the ball back in everybody else's court:

Other than the currently documented AutoText macros such as %D, %T, etc., does anybody know of any other ones that BB might use internally?
